Customized Services

Radon does not care if your home is new, old, big, small, or in a “nice” neighbourhood. It cares about soil, foundation details, and air pressure. Our services are built around those realities, not around a one-size-fits-all package.

Residential Radon Testing

Overview

The most economical method for radon testing in the home involves the home owner purchasing a reliable, accurate and certified testing monitor. The home owner would be responsible to set up the monitor, determine the amount of time they wish to test for and record the results. Based on those results, Royal Radon can suggest and implement a wide variety of remedials measures. Steps to ensure reliable and accurate measurements can be found here.

Typical Price Range

Most professional radon tests in Canada cost roughly $100 to $300 depending on device type and whether we use on-site continuous monitors or long-term lab-analyzed devices.

A list of recommended monitors can be found using the button below.

Radon Mitigation Systems

Mitigation fan

Overview

If your long-term radon level is above 200 Bq/m³, Health Canada recommends taking action, with quicker timelines when levels exceed 600 Bq/m³.

We design and install mitigation systems that reduce radon levels by creating negative pressure under your slab or crawlspace and safely venting radon above the roof.

Typical Price Range

Most Calgary mitigation systems fall between about $1,500 and $3,000 plus GST, depending on foundation type, number of suction points, fan size, and finish details.

Large or complex homes can be higher, and very simple situations can be lower. You’ll see a project-specific range before we even book the install, and a firm quote after on-site diagnostics.

Systems We Work With

  • Sub-slab depressurization through slab or sump.
  • Crawlspace solutions with membrane and depressurization.
  • Combination systems for split levels and additions.

  • On-site diagnostics and design.
  • Professional installation, typically completed in one day.
  • Post-mitigation testing plan and clear instructions.
  • System performance guarantee as outlined on the About page.

Renovations

Overview

Radon is cheapest to manage before concrete is poured and finishes are installed. The National Building Code now includes provisions to make radon mitigation easier in new buildings; many builders still treat this as a checkbox instead of an opportunity to build a better home.
